MLS and Social Networks for Home Buyers

I wanted to let you and your agents know that both facebook.com and myspace.com have opened up their platforms to allow 3rd party developers, such as myself, to add “widgets” that will contain links and adds to other web pages, such as your website.

This changes a lot of stuff. These sites have huge “friends” networks that will be the basis for sending out questions about real estate, etc. Realtors are going to have to have networks on these 2 websites to get the early leads like we are seeing in google now.

I think we should have all the agents and brokers join into both of these networks and start building out a referral network now. IDX Solutions will build the widgets needed to place website links and adds on your facebook and myspace pages.

What used to be link swap and doing things to get page rank in google has become doing things to build out your direct referral network on these 2 sites.
